Students told of fatal risks on Irish roads

-

STUDENTS have been warned of road dangers during a hard-hitting safety campaign.

The AXA event helped 650 transition year pupils in South Dublin.

It involved talks by emergency personnel and the story of a father who lost his daughter, 16, in a hit and run accident.

Antoinette Mcdonald of AXA Insurance said: “We deal with hundreds of claims every week as a result of traffic collisions.

“Too many people are being killed on our roads or are being injured for life.

“These are real stories of people who deal with needless carnage caused by speed, drink and drugs.”
