Problems at groans road
WHAT’S the point of putting 14,000 into a triple header in Croke Park on a cold, wintry Saturday evening?
It’s a pointless loss-making exercise, given that a 30,000 crowd is the break-even figure needed at HQ.
More importantly, it sucks the life out of the atmosphere from the off.
There was approximately 10,000 in attendance during the Dubs’ game against Galway.
A near-empty Croker does nothing for the promotional side of the game – and when it is a one-sided game in a atmosphere like last Saturday, it’s a pretty dire spectacle to watch.
