Celts’ own Duracell Bunny says there is a lot more in the tank

- BY MICHAEL GANNON

CALLUM MCGREGOR reckons the secret to being the busiest player on the planet is he loves to Netflix and thrill.

The Celtic star admitted he was surprised when he got hit by a stat on social media that revealed he’d played more games this season than anyone else in world football.

There might be a man in the Bolivian Third Division waiting in the wings to rubbish the record but Mcgregor clocking up 50 games by February is impressive in any league.

Mcgregor works like a demon on the pitch for Brendan Rodgers (above) – but he revealed it’s knowing when to stick the feet up is key to his Duracell Bunny routine.

He said: “I scroll through Netflix from four to nine, just trying to find something I haven’t watched.

“Do I just sleep? Pretty much! I do try to rest as much as possible. I’ll go for a coffee in the afternoon and then “I’m back in the house at four, get my dinner and then watch telly for the rest of the day.

“It is pretty repetitive but it has to be done. My job is to be a football player and to be ready. “I feel that responsibility when I’m away from the training ground. I do everything I can to be ready.

“A lot of people will say, ‘Ach, they’re finished by half one every day’. But a lot of it is the mental preparation for the games, looking after your body, eating the right things. “We’re not actually at the training ground for a long time but it’s the dedication when you are away – making sure you aren’t doing the stuff you shouldn’t be.”
