Charities must provide evidence of benefit
Groups that offer alternative and complementary medicine (CAM) and claim that it cures or treats a condition will need to provide evidence of their claims to gain charitable status, the Charity Commission has said.
David Holdsworth, its registrar and deputy chief executive, said: “Our updated approach means the public will be better able to make informed choices about CAM charities and whether they wish to support them or use their services.”
