JAMES ON TOP OF THE WORLD

- BY DONAGH CORBY & GAVIN QUINN

JAMES GALLAGHER says it will be a dream come true when Bellator MMA rolls into Dublin’s 3 Arena tomorrow night.

‘The Strabanimal’ is headlining in his home country against Steven Graham, while the co-main event will be a heated contest between ex-teammates Peter Queally and Myles Price.

Gallagher said: “This is something I’ve been dreaming of since I was 13 years old.

“I’d have to be sent to the doctor’s if I wasn’t excited for this one, I feel on top of the world.

“I’m just enjoying this time, this is something for me to be proud of. I feel great, I’m ready to rock and roll on Saturday night.”

SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh said it would be a ‘fantastic’ night for Irish MMA.

He added: “James has come back really well from his loss last year and Peter versus Myles is the biggest fight ever in Irish MMA.

“Peter in the lead up to this has really hit a new level. He’s been in tough spots on shows around the world and he’s earned this and has worked very hard in training. He’s primed and ready.”

And Queally wasn’t pulling any punches when addressing Price ahead of the bout, calling him a

‘rat’ and a ‘scumbag’.

Price famously trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov in America ahead of his UFC 229 bout with Conor Mcgregor last year, and made waves for his comments ahead of the fight.

“He disrespected the camaraderie of Irish

MMA, and Ireland as a team,” Queally claimed. “He went against us.

“I didn’t chase this fight, he chased it, he wanted it. He has it now.”
