LIAM MOORE has told his Reading team-mates: We’re not too good to go down.

Moore knows the Royals’ Championship status is dangling by a thread after they were pegged back against Rotherham.

They are only above the Millers, who occupy the final spot in the drop zone, on goal difference.

And defender Moore is fearing the worst following his side being booed off again after Semi Ajayi’s late goal cancelled out Ovie Ejaria’s effort for Reading.

Skipper Moore said:

“This club needs to be in the Championship. But no one can say they are not a League One club in the making. Stats don’t lie, we need to get the points.

“You hear the boos, but the fans have an absolute right to boo. They booed us off the pitch last week away at Sheffield United and they were well in their rights then, too. They travelled all that way and we put in a c*** display. But this was frustration more than anything.

“The fans deserve to be in the Championship, the facilities are here and with the investment the owner has put in we need to turn it around. We need to turn the boos into cheers.”

Moore is now targeting six wins from the remaining 12 matches to keep Reading up and added: “There are still 36 points to play for and if you give us half of them we should be over the line. It’s a big ask as we need to stay positive.”

Ajayi’s later leveller made it five straight draws for the Millers and the centre-back turned midfielder said: “This keeps our momentum going.

“Our changing room is very close knit and that shows on the pitch. We are prepared to run through brick walls for each other.

“It will be a great achievement if we stay up.”
