Slim odds of winning Glitterball trophy
Cooke joked he needs to slow down as he has set his sights on another RTE show.
He said: “I don’t want to lose too much weight because I wouldn’t mind getting on Operation Transformation.”
Cooke hinted his trim physique has given him the confidence to land the Glitterball trophy.
He said: “Of course, I think I can win. There’s only four weeks in it, it’s a bit like when Ireland got to the quarter-finals of Italia 90.
“I can’t believe I’ve got this far, I might as well have a bit of belief in myself that I can do it. I get nervous every week but now I’ve got to week nine I’m like I’ve got this far but in the early days I was sick with nerves. “That’s why I’ve always got this wild smile on my face pretending I’m not nervous.”
Boylesports have tipped Cooke as the 8/13 favourite to leave the show tomorrow but he is staying positive and gunning for the final. He said: “I should have put money on myself to win but I thought I’d jinx it but friends of mine have put money on me.

“I’ve grabbed challenge by the Glitterballs.” the A PERFORMING arts teacher is hoping it’s third time lucky on Ireland’s Got Talent tonight after twice getting knocked back by the X Factor.
Alana Fox, 19, right, made it to the Six Chair Challenge on the hugely-popular UK show in 2017 as part of
Irish girl group Fae.
She also tried out for the X Factor as a solo singer when she was 14. But the Dubliner said she’s determined to make her name known.
She told Irish Mirror: “Myself and the girls went to stage school together and we just decided to make up the band just for the show. “But we are really good friends, we didn’t have a huge breakup or anything.
“Now I’ve announced I’m going to be on the show the girls all gave me a text wishing me luck.”
Alana, who teaches performing arts twice a week in Templeogue, added she would put anything on the line to become a pop star.
She said: “I would love to be a singer, that’s all I want.
“I love it so much I chose it over going to college.”
