■■Sounds unmissable! London’s new Hard Rock hotel will open on April 30 in a refurbishm­ent of a property that was a favourite of music legends including Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Madonna.

And at 900 rooms and suites, the Marble Arch site – formerly the Cumberland – will be one of the capital’s largest hotels, paying homage to its rich history via curated memorabili­a displays.

Guests will enjoy a menu featuring special cocktails and classic American cooking, served with a modern British twist.

In-room features for guests will include special playlists and a chance to channel their inner rock star with a Fender guitar.

■■The 399-room Marriott Courtyard New York Midtown West will open in the much-anticipate­d Hudson Yards district this spring.

The 28-acre district between Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen – built on top of a working train depot in a huge feat of engineerin­g – is the largest private developmen­t in US history at €22billion.

The Marriot hotel will have a restaurant, bar, lounge and gym, plus a ‘Puparazzi’ dog package of a bed, bowls, food and map of pet-friendly places to visit. Rooms from $289 a night. marriott.co.uk

■■Value brand Premier Inn has opened its second hotel in Germany.

The new 182-room property is in the centre of Hamburg, close to the main train station and the city’s major attraction­s.

It’s in addition to the 210-room hotel in Frankfurt, and part of an expansion programme that will have around 20 sites in the country by the end of 2020, including Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Stuttgart.

Guests will get power showers, Hypnos mattresses, blackout curtains, and tea and coffeemaki­ng facilities in every room, with a cold cuts German breakfast or a cooked option adapted to local preference­s.
