Coppers owners: Time to shift it.. Iconic nightclub & hotel for sale
ONE of Ireland’s best-loved nightclubs is up for sale, it was revealed yesterday.
Copper Face Jacks and The Jackson Court Hotel are on the market after 23 years of ownership by Cathal and Paula Jackson.
Coppers is an institution in central Dublin nightlife, famous for its “shifting wall”.
As well as the nightclub, the 36bedroom hotel is also included in the sale.
It boasts seven bars and three beer gardens.
Selling agent Dermot Curtin said a price has not been set for the iconic nightclub.
He added: “Nothing remotely like this property and business has ever been offered to the market in recent times, there are no comparable sales to measure this opportunity against.
“However, having spent much of their working lives creating and operating this incredibly successful business, the vendors understand fully what the property is worth and will easily recognise a fair and realistic offer, when it presents itself.
“The opportunity to acquire both Coppers and the Jackson Court Hotel is one of those projects that come to market once in a generation.
“The intrinsic property value alone of these five buildings in the heart of Harcourt Street in central Dublin underpins the future of this project.”
In 2011 when Dublin won the All Ireland captain Bryan Cullen told the Croke Park crowd the team would “see you all in Coppers”, a phrase still uttered in the city.
Speaking about the sale, Mr Jackson said: “Over the past 23 years I have been totally committed to setting up and establishing Copper Face Jacks as one of the most enduring and successful entertainment venues in Ireland.
“It is now time to hand over the reins to new owners who have the energy and the expertise to take Coppers to the next level.” Copper Face Jacks
