Transformed rock singer hoping to go down a Storm

-

IRELAND’S Got Talent will be taken by Storm this weekend as a wannabe hoping to be the next Lady Gaga takes to the stage.

After a turbulent time on the X Factor two years ago, Hayley Norton has completely transformed her act.

She has rebranded herself as “Storm” in song and appearance.

However, the 22-year-old from Belfast, who is currently unemployed, admitted her efforts to succeed don’t come cheap.

She told Irish Daily

Mirror: “This is it. I am putting everything I have into this now.

“I’m not working so that makes it quite hard because it is an expensive job and sometimes you pay out more than you make.

MONEY

“You need money for make-up and outfits, and it is so hard to get.

“You need money for transport as well and I don’t drive.

“I don’t really know anyone that drives so I rely on public transport.“

Storm, who entered the X Factor in 2017 as a rap singer with her mother, explained why she wanted to rebrand herself.

She said: “That was totally different. I was rapping and everything. I’m not going to lie, I still enjoy listening to rap and I would like to do some raps here and there but I’ve rebranded myself and rap wasn’t where it was.

“I’m channelling the rock music at the minute.

“That’s my groove right now, I’m really enjoying it because it is just a completely different style of music, it is a totally different experience to perform.”

Recalling the moment Simon Cowell made her ditch her mother, Debye Gaskin, in order to continue to the six-chair challenge, she said: “Of course she was like you go ahead, she just needed a few minutes to gather herself and take it in.

“I felt bad but I knew I would have felt worse if I walked away with nothing.”
