It was my decision to waltz off DWTS
Amanda on why she left hit show.. & didn’t offer Jen any advice
AMANDA Byram insists she left Dancing With The Stars on her own accord because it was too much of a commitment.
Breaking her silence for the first time since her shock departure last year, she revealed she didn’t contact new host Jennifer Zamparelli to offer any advice, or watch the latest series. The 45-year-old, who is based between LA and London told the Irish Daily Mirror: “I had to walk away because I wasn’t going to be here. I miss it.
“It was a really hard decision for me because I love the show. It’s an amazing format.
“I was working back home in Dublin and I got to spend three months of the year here. “But it was a massive commitment. And because of all the other stuff I had going on out there, I just couldn’t be here.
“It was hard because I had to choose and so it came to July or August last year and my agent asked if I was going to do it because [DWTS chief Larry Bass] needed to know.
COMMITMENT
“So I had to make a commitment and stick to it. They totally understood. They were brilliant about it.
“They wished me the best. At the end of the day it is not rocket science, it is a TV show, it’s entertainment.”
Explaining why she didn’t tune in to the series this year, Amanda, who co-hosted the show with Nicky Bryne for two years, said: “The RTE Player needs to sort it out because you can’t watch it in other territories.
“The only thing I can catch is Twitter the day after, looking at Jen’s dress. I believe it was brilliant. She doesn’t need advice from me. She did an amazing job – she owned it.
“That is Jen’s style and she really embraced that and I really love the fact that she went the other way, rather than ballgowns which I did. But I missed watching it.
For me, I loved being there and watching the dancing .”
Amanda was speaking in Dublin as she helped launch No7 Laboratories new serums Firming
Booster Serum and Dark Spot
Correcting Booster Serum.
As their new ambassador,
Amanda said:
“My generation
– Gen X women
[aged between 39 and
53] – really feel now that they’re happier now than with their skin 10 years ago.”
I missed watching it. For me I loved being there and watching the dancing
