- BY FERGHAL BLANEY Political Correspondent BY BREIN MCGINN

POLITICIANS are going mad for burritos to keep them going in Leinster House.

The Mexican street food from Boojum on Kevin Street in Dublin has been revealed as the top delivery choice for our hungry TDS and senators.

Second on the list was healthy food outlet Sprout on the capital’s Baggot Street which might have something to do with Leo Varadkar’s health kick rubbing off on his colleagues.

The top 10 deliveries from Deliveroo have been released in advance of the Easter weekend when our politicians will be off. Other favoured nosh include meals from Nando’s, burgers and chips from Eddie Rockets and Japanese cuisine from Eatokyo.

Deliveroo chief Dan Warne said the findings go to show those who make the big decisions in Leinster House are just as fond of a takeaway as the rest of us.

He added: “We’re very happy to be helping to feed the people involved in making important decisions for Ireland.

“Our main concern at Deliveroo is keeping people well-nourished with food they want, so we’re glad to be a small part of the bigger picture that’s helping to keep things running smoothly.

“The denizens of Leinster House do have other choices for a Cubs will be named by the public political lunch or dinner in the shape of the private members dining room, which is for TDS or senators and their guests only, or the selfservice cafe down the hall, but these may now only be for special occasions as more and more people are ordering from their favourite restaurants.

“Who knew the politicos busying themselves in the corridors of power on Kildare and Merrion Street were as fond of a Boojum takeaway or an Eddie Rockets as the rest of us?”

Number of Asian lions which are thought to be left in the world

VISITORS to Fota Wildlife Park will be on the lookout for the mane attractions after it announced the birth of four Asian lion cubs.

They were delivered in February at the Cork site to second-time parents Gira and Shanto.

Asian lions are an endangered species with around 500 left in the wild.

Lead ranger Kelly Lambe said: “We are thrilled with the Lions at Fota Wildlife Park in Co Cork

arrival of this litter. This species is endangered and now inhabits only one remaining site in the world – the Gir Forest in India – which means wildlife parks and zoos play a crucial role in safeguarding the species.

“We are delighted there are four cubs thriving and all are feeding and bonding well.”

Fota is calling on the public to help name the cubs via www.fotawildlife. ie/blog.
