Aidan: I won’t force my girls to be Stars...

GAA legend loving life with daughters

- BY Showbiz Reporter KATIE GALLAGHER

FORMER Dancing With The Stars winner Aidan O’mahony said he won’t push his daughters to follow in his football or dancing footsteps.

The doting dad of Lucia, two, and sevenweek-old Lilah can’t remember his life before his girls arrived but he would never want to become an overbearing parent.

The five-time All-ireland winner with Kerry said: “I think it is important for kids to be involved in any kind of sport whether it’s football or soccer but I’m not going to be a parent that pushes a kid towards playing GAA because her dad did.

“The more sport they play the better. But I think eventually down the line they will pick something they like themselves whether it is some form of sport or dancing.” The 38-year-old added: DEVOTED Aidan O’mahony “Like I always say, the most important part is when they wake up in the morning and putting them to bed at night and that’s the way it is now. The house is covered head to toe in pink but it is lovely and hopefully they will grow up to be best friends. “They have daddy wrapped around their finger already. I’d say I’ll never make a decision again in my life because I am totally outnumbered.

“Before you have kids everyone tells you about how it changes your life for the better and for me that is no different.” Aidan’s spare time is spent working with Cardiac Risk in Young Ireland and he’s asking the public to join him in walking the Camino de Santiago on September 7 to 14.

He said: “By working with Cry you hear people’s stories and we have very small worries and I say look we are just kind of expressing life in full while we are on this Earth.”
