Ambitious Foxes to tie up Maddison & Soyuncu on bumper contracts
JAMES MADDISON is set to land a bumper new deal at Leicester.
The high-flying Foxes are desperate to keep their star man out of the clutches of Manchester United.
Leicester have seen the likes of Harry Maguire, Riyad Mahrez and N’golo Kante leave in recent seasons, although United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all had to spend big to get them.
Maddison has been in storming form, helping Leicester become Liverpool’s nearest Premier League title challengers and forcing his way into the England squad.
Last week, the Foxes secured the future of boss Brendan Rodgers on a new contract until 2025 worth £40million, amid interest from Arsenal. Now they have turned their attentions to tying down midfielder Maddison along with defender Caglar Soyuncu (right).
Maddison, 23, has five goals and three assists in the league this term and continues to impress since his £22m move from Norwich in June 2018 on a five-year contract. The deadball specialist was on fire in Sunday’s 4-1 thrashing of Aston Villa and is set to see his £60,000-a-week salary rocket.
