Murder trial: ‘I f***ed up, I killed father’
Countries demand Iran takes blame
Central Criminal
A MAN who attacked his dad during a row over a burnt breakfast told a garda: “I know I f***ed up. I killed my father,” a court heard yesterday.
The trial also heard Mark Tims, 48, told gardai he felt his head “boiling” and he “freaked” after his dad kept on at him about drinking in the house.
He said he hit his father with a cup and when he fell to the floor he kicked him as hard as he could.
The accused admits manslaughter but denies murdering 74-year-old Anthony Tims at the home they shared in Clondalkin, Dublin, in July 2018.
His trial continues in front of Mr Justice Tony Hunt at the Central Criminal Court.
SENIOR foreign ministers have demanded Iran take “full responsibility” over the downing of a Ukrainian passenger jet which killed 176 people.
UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab met counterparts Francois-philippe Champagne, from Canada, Vadym Prystaiko, of Ukraine, Ann Linde, from Sweden, and Idrees Zaman, of
Afghanistan – whose countries all lost citizens in the crash shortly after takeoff in Tehran.
They insisted: “Iran assumes full responsibility and recognises its duties towards the families of the victims – including compensation.” The meeting at Canada House in Central London, also attended by Dutch Foreign
Minister Stef Blok, followed a solemn candle-lighting ceremony for victims.
The nations called for a “thorough, independent, transparent international investigation”. They also want “accountability” and “transparent, impartial judicial proceedings”.
They demanded victims are handled with “dignity” in line with family wishes.
