DOG owners are fuelling a canine obesity crisis by giving their pets treats from the dinner table.
Nine out of 10 owners feed their dogs scraps three times a week, a survey found. And 66% of dog owners have no idea their pet should only be fed 2-3% of their ideal body weight a day.
The poll of 2,000 people by pet food firm Natural Instinct found 40% wanted to adopt a better diet for their pet.

Much-loved children’s favourites the Mr Men have released a new novel this week exploring an exciting journey across Ireland. The book will see Mr Quiet pay a visit to Titanic Belfast in a quest to find the Blarney Stone.
The Northern Ireland landmark is the Mr Men’s first stop on an epic trip across the island as they seek to help Mr Quiet, who has always spoken few words, learn to chat more.
