NATALIA Karaczyn’s husband told her sister he killed her, a court heard yesterday.

Magdalena Mcmorrow claimed her brother in law said, “I did it, I did it”.

And she told the Central Criminal Court 34-year-old Rafal Karaczyn admitted he “grabbed her and strangled her” during an argument at the family home.

The accused, of Crozon Park, Sligo, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his 30-year-old wife between April 29 and May 1, 2018.

Magdalena told the court the couple had been estranged for a year but lived in the same house.

She said Mr Karaczyn had texted her on April 30, 2018, to say mum-of-three Natalia had not returned from the night before.

He later told Magdalena his wife got “messed up with the wrong people”.

And he claimed Travellers had forced him to leave a window open so they could hurt her but he found Natalia dead and took her body to a forest.

Magdalena said: “I believed every word.”

But she told the jury she “comforted” Karaczyn at Ballymote Garda Station as he admitted he killed Natalia, lay down with her for 10 minutes then put her body in his car boot.

She added: “I felt really sorry for him. I think it was shock.”

The trial continues.

THE family of a 16-year-old killed in a crash told of their ”superstar” girl as they laid her to rest yesterday.

Tragic Kimberly O’connor died last Thursday when a car in which she was a passenger smashed into a wall.

Two teenage boys were seriously hurt in the accident at Knocknaheeny, Cork.

In a tribute read by Kimberly’s sister Shannon, heartbroken mum Jennifer said: “I will never be the same until I am with you again, Kimberly. You made me the proudest mother with all you have done in your life – the beautiful singing you had used to make my hairs stand up. You had such a beautiful singing voice – you were a belter.

“You had such a beautiful personality and a kind heart – you were and always will be my superstar.”

And sister Britney told mourners at St Mary on the Hill church, transistion year student Kimberly “always made the whole world smile”.
