Imelda said she was ready and waiting to release her new record, book and a begin a world tour.

But like every other artist she is in limbo, waiting to see how and when Covid 19 restrictions will be lifted and when and how live music can be performed in front of an audience again.

She added: “I had everything planned for this year.

“The poetry has worked out well in the sense that right now people are maybe a bit more reflective and calmer.

“I am panicky but calm when I am at home.

“The plan was to release my album, which is all recorded, and was due to be out this year.

“There was a tour planned which has all been cancelled, everything. I am just waiting on my managers and agents to see what’s what.

“I think every musician out there is in the same boat.

“And we will be scrambling to book a tour and we are not even sure if anyone will be willing or able to go to it.

“So, it is very unsure times but I will have an album, out later this year, it is more or less ready.

“It is another step forward for me, I never step backwards.

“It is one of my favourite albums and I love it but that’s all I am saying about it.”

■ Slip Of The Tongue, which is pictured left, is out now.

A CRATER left by a city-sized space rock that killed the dinosaurs may hold the key to finding life on Mars.

It created perfect conditions for microorganisms – warm water nearly half a mile underground.

This fuelled production of chemicals and proteins that build cells.

Rocks were studied from beneath the seabed in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico where the asteroid struck 66 million years ago.

Dr David Kring, a NASA scientist in Houston, said: “Impact cratering is a fundamentally important heat engine.

“This model is transferrable to early Mars.”
