RETURN OF THE SOARING 2 s Summer weather on its way again
SUMMER in Ireland is set to return as temperatures are to rise back above 20C.
The country recently enjoyed its best weather of the year with glorious sunshine.
The beautiful conditions seemed to fall off a cliff earlier this week, however, with many parts set to be colder than most of the Scandinavian capitals over the next few days.
But it does appear that the weather will start to gradually heat up as next week goes on.
Met Eireann is predicting highs of 18C next Wednesday – and the forecasters said it will get even warmer leading up to the weekend. A spokesman said: “Current indications are it will become mostly dry with temperatures increasing to the high teens or low 20s.”
Meanwhile, today will see highs of just 11C to 15C, making parts of Ireland colder than Helsinki, Oslo, Reykjavik and Copenhagen.
Sunday will be a mostly dry day with some sunny periods.
Met Eireann added: “Longer spells of sunshine will develop in the southern half of the country during the afternoon.
“Highest temperatures of 11C to 13C in the north and northwest and 15C to 18C elsewhere in moderate northerly winds.”
Next week is looking to be mostly dry although it will be cloudy across the country.
Highs of up to 17C are expected in parts on Tuesday while some patchy rain will fall over western regions.
A forecaster said: “[It will be] mostly dry on Wednesday with some rain and drizzle in the north and northwest. Highest temperatures of 14C to 18C.”
