HIGH-RISK

TV’S Francis Brennan

FRANCIS Brennan has revealed he has been cocooning for 10 weeks after travelling to 19 airports just before lockdown.

The famous hotelier, 67, is also in a high-risk category as he has Type 2 diabetes.

The Kerryman told the Irish Mirror: “I was out in America working but I came home early because I was afraid we were going to have a lockdown.

“I had visited 19 airports in a fourweek period prior to March 16 so it was a big challenge to everyone.

“So I came home and I collected my post off a wall and they gave me a bottle of milk and then I isolated for two weeks and I was fine. My niece brought me things.

“And then after two weeks in lockdown, it was announced that people with underlying conditions, and I am a Type 2 diabetic, have to stay home. So now I am 10 weeks staying home.”

TREATMENT

Francis added he has been using the time to write a new book and revealed he is raring to go for a new series of RTE’S At Your Service after taking a year off last year while his brother John got cancer treatment.

But putting the plans in place to get their 13th season on the road by the end of the year, the star said they are ready to hit screens again.

Looking for four new owners of hotels or tourist attractions to take part in the show, Francis added:

“We are back on the run again.

“This year there was no At Your Service because John was on treatment last year so he chose not to do a series so there is no live series for 2020.

“But we will be filming this September, October, November I suppose for broadcast next year.

“He’s over treatment and fine and raring to go. The reason I’m saying September is we will all be too busy in July and August to be filming.”
