VIRGIN Media host Ciara Doherty said yesterday she worries her baby girl won’t recognise her relatives when they meet again.

The Ireland AM presenter said: “All of the family photos are dotted all around the kitchen table at the moment so we spend every lunchtime going through them all.

“And we Zoom every couple of days and let the kids see each other so that they are not strangers.

“Renee wouldn’t have seen them for six to eight months which is a long time for her.”

Ciara, 38, also said it was hard on her parents in Co Donegal missing milestones in 16-month-old Renee’s life.

She added: “She is walking now, she started two weeks ago. So that was a massive moment and luckily myself and Richard were here.

“But my family were dying to be here for that and I was trying to catch it on camera to send it up to mum and dad.

“They are missing out and it is hard on them too.”

Ciara told how she has two siblings abroad, one in London and the other in Abu Dhabi, and added: “I find that really difficult and I would love a little bit of clarity around [when you can travel].

“I am really close to them and my sister had a baby four months after me, a baby girl and I’ve only seen her twice.

“My sister and I are incredibly close. We speak every day so I’d love to know, yes there is a date in August where I could book a flight.”

But the busy mum said she is grateful for her health and the time she has gained with her daughter in lockdown.

She added: “I’m one of the lucky ones because I’ve had nobody directly affected and myself and Richard have been able to work full time.”
