UEFA bosses have lined up Frankfurt to host the latter stages of the Europa League during August.
The final was due to be held in the Polish city of Gdansk, but there are now contingency plans to move the showpiece game, due to Covid-19.
UEFA have identified Eintracht Frankfurt’s Commerzbank Arena as an alternative venue and are expected to confirm this on Wednesday.
It is understood the plan now is to stage a mini-tournament.
The Champions League final was scheduled to take place in Istanbul last month, but UEFA are now considering staging the latter stages in Lisbon.
