AER Lingus will slash the pay and hours of employees down to 30% of the airline’s pre-covid operation and lay off staff.

The development came after unions did not meet the company’s 6pm deadline to agree to new work practice reforms last night.

Chief Sean Doyle, who addressed employees via video, said: “Aer Lingus will proceed with the planned lay-offs and further reductions to working hours and pay that were previously communicated.”
