ADMIRAL NELSON

Expect More of the same from stylish debut winner

MAGICAL WISH

His best trip is arguably 7f but he has big-field form over 6f on good to soft, so I don’t think today’s distance will be an issue. The draw in one might be, though.

MORE BEAUTIFUL

Everyone saw how impressive she was on her debut at Naas last week. She has the pedigree — being by War Front out of a Moyglare winner, and a half-sister to Saxon Warrior as a result — and she has inherited plenty of their talent judged on that debut win

I wouldn’t swap her, for all she would have preferred the rain to have stayed away. Her dam won a Chesham here on soft, though.

I don’t think we could have asked for more from this Kingman colt on his debut. He travelled powerfully into his race pretty easily, and won decisively. He looked very smart, but obviously this is a big step up. I wouldn’t swap him, either.

SO WONDERFUL

Our two fillies have something to find at this level. It looks a pretty hot renewal to me, with Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf winner Sharing adding an extra element.

But Love Locket is going very much the right way, and So Wonderful comes here from her excellent Irish 1,000 Guineas third. Both have chances.

MI ESPERANZA proved ideally named for trainer Andrew Kinsella, after the four-year-old filly benefited from an enterprising ride by five-pound claimer Gavin Ryan to win the Tipperaryraces. ie Handicap.

The daughter of Dandy Man’s Spanish moniker translates to ‘My Hope’ and after a 10-year drought, albeit that he was not active for a significant portion of that period, her handler can be optimistic about the future as a result of this 16/1 success.

The day’s feature contest was hosted by Gowran Park in the evening fixture, the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mccalmont Stakes going to the progressive Lemista (5/2), who was completing a double for Ger Lyons and Colin Keane.

In terms of individual honours, jockey Billy Lee scored a Tipperary treble, while trainer Johnny Murtagh continued his blistering form with a cross-card treble.

It was a red-letter day for Kinsella, who last tasted success when Max Almighty prevailed in a handicap hurdle at Gowran Park in March 2010.

He did register 10 winners on the Flat in 2008 however and after taking time out to train as an engineer, will be hoping that this success will alert owners to his return.

Mi Esperanza only got in as a reserve and Ryan made the most of the opportunity, kicking for home
