WE’VE HAUNTED DOWN A 19TH CENTURY GHOST

He had already been dead for some time before Paranormal investigators claim to have film of spirit

GHOST hunters believe they have proof a 19th century spirit is haunting an Irish castle.

Paranormal Supernatural Investigations Ireland claim to have footage that confirms its presence at Castle Ellen House in Co Galway.

The ghost is said to be that of Walter Peter Lambert, part of the wealthy Anglo-irish family who owned the property.

He was 76 when he died in 1892 at the Imperial Hotel in Tuam, Co Galway, after choking.

Richard Morrison, co-founder of PSI Ireland, said: “On the day of his death, maids were cleaning his bedroom.

“One looked out of the window and said, ‘The master has returned’. He was on foot, which was unusual as he travelled by coach.

“He had already been dead for some hours before this.

“It has also been reported the coach and horses with Lambert’s remains on board refused to enter the gate of Castle Ellen House.

“The second team of horses were brought from the stables but they also refused to pass the entrance.

“This left the staff with no option, only to carry the remains up the very long avenue.”

Castle Ellen House has also been connected with other famous personalities.

Oscar Wilde visited during summer holidays as a child and the mother of Edward Carson, the father of unionism, was born in the house.

Last year, PSI Ireland said they had obtained video footage that “confirmed” the presence of a ghost in Leap Castle, Co Offaly.

They claimed a recording from inside the building appears to show a “ghost” in one of the mirrors.

They named what they believe to be a supernatural being the “Man in the Mirror”.

A group of six people from PSI Ireland carried out the examination.

A spokesman said: “We feel the evidence we have captured confirms the findings about the ‘Man in the Mirror’.”
