WILL Ferrell has revealed he would have loved to have spent his lockdown in Ireland like Matt Damon.

But the Anchorman star prefers Cork to Dublin’s Dalkey.

He said: “Probably at the Jameson Distillery down in Cork. In Midleton, yeah. I’d just have a little room up there in the office.”

Speaking to Alison Curtis on Today FM, Ferrell went on to spill some details from his latest film Eurovision Song Contest: A Story of Fire Saga.

Asked whether he had a difficult time explaining Eurovision to producers, the star revealed it was surprisingly easy.

He said: “We were just lucky enough to walk into Netflix and sort of explain what it was.

“And they, to their credit, kind of got the whole spectacle of it and we didn’t go anywhere else in Hollywood.”

Despite the film being a comedy, Ferrell revealed there is a warm and fuzzy storyline between his and Rachel Mcadam’s characters. He added: “There’s a lot of humour to be had when you watch the show, there’s a lot of kitsch at times.

“But we just thought, at the centre of it, it needs to have kind of an emotional base.” The film is available to stream on Netflix.

A BOY aged 10 critically injured when his bicycle was in collision with a jeep and horsebox has died.

Adam Lyons, from just outside Borris, Co Carlow, is believed to have been cycling with two friends when the accident happened not far from his home at around 1.30pm on Thursday.

It is understood the driver of the jeep tried to save the boy’s life with CPR.

Both the jeep driver and Adam’s parents are well known to each other and both live close to the crash scene.

The boy’s injuries were so serious he was airlifted to Temple Street children’s hospital in Dublin where he died late on Thursday night. Adam’s friends were shocked but not injured.

Another serious accident occurred on the same part of the road on Wednesday evening involving three other vehicles, while another young cyclist was also injured in a similar accident in the

Road where Adam was in accident location three weeks ago. Adam’s parents Eddie and Heather Lyons were yesterday being comforted by family and friends. They were at their son’s beside when he passed away.

The family are not originally from the area but settled near Borris around 10 years ago. A local councillor, who did not wish to be named, said: “The news of a local child passing away following an accident is devastating.

“It is absolutely horrendous for his family who are just such fantastic people.

“Our thoughts are with the whole family. It is a very close-knit community and everyone is just so upset and numbed after what has happened.”

Anyone who may have seen the crash, especially those who may have dash cam footage, are asked to contact Carlow Garda station on 059 9136620.
