A PUNTER netted an €8,500 windfall when a €5 Lucky 15 wager paid dividends in the best way possible.

The customer used their online Boylesports account and bet a total of €75 on four horses to win at the Curragh on Saturday.

After the first three won, the big payout was secured when Santiago claimed the Irish Derby.

Boylesports’ Sarah Kinsella said: “We must send huge congratulations to our Dublin customer who took us for €8,574.50 on Saturday evening.

“We wish them the best of luck with their winnings and happy spending.”

DUSTIN the Turkey has ruffled the feathers of hundreds of angry Niall Horan fans over comments made during The Den’s Comic Relief reunion.

Niall joined Dustin, Ray, Zig and Zag on Friday night as the iconic children’s TV show made a return to our screens.

The Den’s comeback and Niall’s performance of Black and White were among the highlights of the show, which raised more than €5million for charity.

During the performance, Dustin quipped to the audience they only got Niall because Harry Styles was busy.

They also cut the performance short after just a minute and a half as part of the comic sketch.

While the gag landed with an Irish audience, hundreds of irate Niall fans vented their disgust on social media.

An American admirer called Marina wrote: “We get it’s Irish humour and we get that the puppet generally ‘insults’ people for comedy but there’s a line that can be crossed when you put down an artist while speaking highly of another. It was disrespectful the way they cut him off.” Another commented: “That’s so terrible, Niall is just as f ***** g talented as Harry.”

While US supporter Grace complained “they did not deserve to have Niall on their show, urgh the disrespect”.

The ire directed across the Atlantic

at Dustin and The Den was not missed by Comic Relief host Deirdre O’kane who tweeted: “The furore over Niall Horan and The Den is cracking me up.”

When contacted yesterday Dustin was unusually quiet and unavailable for comment.

However, a spokesperson for the puppet and Comic Relief said: “Whilst Dustin the Turkey is happy to take on world leaders, church leaders, broadcasters, royalty, Bob Geldof and Mattress Mick, he politely draws the line in taking on teenage American Niall Horan fans with smartphones.

“He also wants to make it very clear to Niall’s wonderful fans that he believes Niall Horan is the greatest human being ever to live and not just a jammy lad from Mullingar with good teeth who can hold a tune.

“Dustin also wants everyone to know that you can still donate to RTE Does Comic Relief at www.rte.ie/comicrelief #Never2late2donate.”

THE Den is being backed to make a TV comeback after fans went wild for the brief reunion on Comic Relief at the weekend.

It has been 10 years since the programme, which was a stalwart of Irish childhoods, was last aired on RTE.

Now the iconic show is being backed to return to our screens after a special appearance of some famous faces.

Ray D’arcy starred with his old pals Zig and Zag on Friday to present a special episode during the fundraiser.

Boylesports have since been inundated with requests from punters asking for odds on The Den making a comeback.

Those chances were introduced at 20/1 but they have been hammered into 4/1. It’s also 50/1 from 100/1 for a full reboot with the original characters.
