SEAGULLS DOGGED BY EMPTY AMEX

- BY JOHN CROSS BY DAVID MCDONNELL @Discomirror

GRAHAM POTTER wants Manchester United to keep losing at the Amex – even if he fears Brighton’s home advantage has gone.

United have crashed on both previous visits in the Premier League, 1-0 in May 2018 and 3-2 three months later.

Now the seagulls are aiming to complete a shock hat-trick.

Brighton were the most vocal of the 20 top-flight clubs calling for the neutral grounds idea to be scrapped.

But boss Potter (above) admits Project

Restart has removed any home advantage.

he said: “I’m happy if the Amex is a bogey ground for United. But we can’t rely on that.

“My view is that home advantage is significantly dropped without the crowd.

”that would have been the main advantage, especially against the top teams.

“the crowd can come and realise that you are the underdog and forgive you for quite a few things.”

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has told his Manchester United players that none of them has a “divine right” to play for the club.

United strikers Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have both scored 19 goals this season, the best returns of their respective careers.

But United boss Solskajer said he still wants more from the duo, and warned any players caught resting on their laurels will ultimately end up losing their place.

“You need competition for places at United,” said Solskjaer, who takes his topfour chasing side to Brighton tonight. “If you think you’ve got a divine right to be playing every game, and are doing so well that we’re not going to look for players to replace you, you’re in the wrong place.

“I’ve been here myself for so many years as a striker and Teddy Sheringham comes in, Dwight Yorke comes in, Ruud van Nistelrooy comes in, Wayne Rooney comes in.

“We’ve always got to look at improving and, if they don’t improve, we might have to look somewhere else to get better because we have to be better.
