A LUCKY shopkeeper is celebrating after selling a third Lotto jackpot ticket at his store.

Martin Murphy said he is overjoyed after news broke that the ticket worth €2,824,437 was sold at his small shop in Ballinrobe, Co Mayo.

He has handed over three golden tickets to date, with the others coming in 1989 and 2015.

In 2015, he hit the headlines when he sold a winning ticket worth more than €6.3million to his brother-in-law Ger Murphy.

He said: “Honestly, I still can’t believe it.

“We’re a relatively small shop in the west of Ireland and here we are again celebrating our third Lotto jackpot win.

“You wouldn’t believe the excitement which is coursing through Ballinrobe town right now.

“We are all ecstatically excited and thrilled that somebody in our community is now coming to terms with being over €2.8million richer right now. It really is such a satisfying feeling knowing that we sold them the winning ticket.

“I have seen first-hand how a Lotto win can change somebody’s life for the better. Whoever the winner is, they should get as much professional advice as is possible.

“I hope they take some time out and gather their thoughts before they make any big plans for their win.

“€2.8million will be truly life-changing so I hope that they enjoy it and make every penny count.”

The winning numbers were 3, 8, 21, 34, 37, 47 and bonus number 16.

Martin, 68, revealed it was a multi-draw ticket but doesn’t know who the lucky winner or winners are.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “If you are one of the lucky winners, please sign the back of the ticket and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@ lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to collect your prize.”
