ROY CAN TALK THE TALK BUT HE WILL NOT WALK THE WALK

- BY MATTHEW DUNN

ROY HODGSON has been told his Crystal Palace team will be safe when they become the first team to visit Leicester since the localised lockdown.

The Eagles play at the King Power Stadium after an overnight stay at a hotel in a city which has suffered a spike in positive Covid-19 tests.

They will be confined to barracks ahead of kick-off rather than the gentle exercise they usually take to stretch their legs on the morning of a game, but Hodgson says that is no big issue.

“It is a small price to pay for getting these matches played,” said the Palace boss (right).

“It would be perverse to complain that it is a disaster because we can’t get our walk.

“We’ve been given assurances by the hotel that everything is under control.”

Hodgson’s bigger concern is trying to stop striker Jamie Vardy scoring his 100th Premier League goal for the Foxes. “I am a great admirer of his so let’s hope he repays me by playing badly!” he said.
