VAR Kaned Spurs twice, insists Berg

-

STEVEN BERGWIJN is still scratching his head over one of the most controversial VAR calls of the season left Tottenham fuming.

Bergwijn (above) was shocked when Harry Kane’s equaliser in the first half was ruled out.

In the build-up a Sheffield United player was adjudged by VAR to have thumped the ball against the fouled and falling Lucas Moura’s arm as he hit the deck on Thursday.

Jose Mourinho (below) claimed that moment impacted his players for the remainder of the game as their Champions League hopes took a big hit.

And Dutch winger Bergwijn said: “In my opinion it is a goal. Moura can’t put his hands anywhere. They also pushed him in the back, so there are TWO things wrong.

“I don’t understand why we didn’t get a free-kick, maybe it is because we played through – but I think the goal must be given.

“Where is Lucas supposed to put his hands. It is a goal in my opinion.

“When you concede a goal and equalise so quickly it is a good feeling, but it is disallowed. Then it’s really mixed feelings.”
