Saint and winners..

- BY PETER O’HEHIR

SAINT D’OROUX, one of five runners from Gordon Elliott’s Cullentra yard, might prove best in the Fast Shipping Bellewstown Handicap Hurdle, feature of today’s Bellewstown card.

The four-year-old came good when bolting-up in a modest maiden at Gowran Park in February, having shown promise in better company behind the likes of A Wave Of The Sea and Cerberus.

He scooted home 24 lengths clear of his rivals in Gowran, booking his ticket to Cheltenham, where he ran a cracker off 133 to finish third behind stablecompanion Aramax in the Boodles.

Back after a break, Saint D’oroux appreciates some ‘juice’ in the ground and has solid each-way claims in a tough race.

Stable-companion Silver Star, recent Limerick scorer Poseidon and Razoul, an eye-catcher behind Aramon in the Grimes at Tipperary, all deserve respect.
