JACK HAS A SWAGGER THAT SUITS RED DEVILS

- BY JAMES NURSEY

TIM SHERWOOD reckons Jack Grealish has “a special Manchester United swagger” – and could make them a better side next season.

Grealish (above) is set to captain his hometown team Aston Villa against United tonight.

It is the £70million-rated midfielder’s latest audition for a big-money move to Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old is expected to quit Villa Park if the club are relegated, with United his likely destination.

And former Villa boss Sherwood, who handed Grealish his full Premier League debut in April 2015, is sure he would be a hit for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s in-form team with Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

Sherwood said: “There will be a queue for Jack.

“If Villa stay up, it gives them a chance to keep him, but Manchester United is another step upwards.

“Only certain people can play for United and I have no doubt Jack Grealish is one of them.

“He has a special Man United swagger about him – he is what they need.

“They have found Fernandes, he has knitted players together and the whole team looks better.

“Matic now looks like the player who won two Premier Leagues,

Pogba has come to life and if or when they introduce Jack

Grealish, you are talking about another player who is special.

“They have Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Dan James and Anthony Martial’s pace, but Jack can take the ball in tight areas to give them something different.

“When teams sit back against United, that is when they struggle but it’s when Jack is at his best.

“He finds the combination to unlock the door.”

Sherwood has followed Grealish’s progress closely, like another of his proteges – Harry Kane.

The former Spurs boss predicts the two will be team-mates next season for England at the rescheduled Euros.

Sherwood added: “They have worked hard and I love watching them develop. Jack has come on in leaps and bounds, as has Harry.

“Harry is captain of England, of course, but Jack will also play for England.

“It is time to get rid of the old guard and bring in these kids who are very special, like Phil Foden at Manchester City. United have good young English players too.

“They’re out there and now it’s time to bring in the new blood.” ASTON VILLA: Reina, Hause, Mings, Konsa, Taylor, El Ghazi, Mcginn, Luiz, Trezeguet, Grealish, Davis MANCHESTER UNITED: De Gea, Wan-bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Pogba, Matic, Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford, Martial
