POG HINTS AT FUTURE REDS DEAL

- BY DAVID MCDONNELL

PAUL POGBA has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is ready to commit his long-term future to Manchester United.

The record, £89million signing looked set to leave after claiming last summer he was ready for “a new challenge”, with Real Madrid and Juventus circling for him.

But Pogba (above), who was injured earlier this season, is relishing being back in a team with so much potential and challenging for trophies.

United have the option to extend his deal – which runs until 2021 – by an extra year, while talks are ongoing over a new, long-term contract.

“Just being back training, touching the ball and doing what I love is amazing,” said Pogba. “I missed it so much.

“You realise when you’re out for a long time how much you really enjoy playing football and how much you love it.

“So I’m really happy and blessed to be fully fit – I enjoy being back with the team.

“I feel great and much better now. I’ve been training well and the club have been looking after me very well.

“I’ve been doing some extra work and treatment on my ankle and the rest of my body.

“My team-mates have also helped me to come back and feel confident.

“It’s like I never left, the guys still trust in me and always believe in me.”

United are pushing for a top-four place, as well as FA Cup and Europa League glory, with Pogba revitalised by the challenge that lies ahead.

Speaking to United Review on his role behind Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, Pogba said: “From behind, I just enjoy it.

“I’m enjoying just watching Bruno, Rashford, Martial and Mason, who all played in the last game, and seeing them score goals.

“You just keep applauding, it’s beautiful – they make me enjoy football every time.”
