RON OUT BUT JUVE TOAST HOT MORATA

-

ALVARO MORATA pounced twice to ease Juventus to a 2- 0 win at Dynamo Kiev.

Coach Andrea Pirlo – already without Covidpositive Cristiano Ronaldo – must have thought he was in for trouble when defensive rock Giorgio Chiellini went off in the

19th minute with a hamstring injury.

But former Chelsea striker Morata ( above) rescued the Italians to give Pirlo his first win as a manager in the Champions League, which he won twice with AC Milan as a midfield maestro.

Morata was on hand to fire home a rebound in the 46th minute.

And the Spaniard then stole in front of his marker to head home from close range in the 84th minute.

Also in Group G, Lionel Messi ( below) scored a penalty before Anssumane Fati and Philippe Coutinho struck as Barcelona saw off Ferencvaros 5- 1.

Barca’s night was soured when Gerard Pique was sent off and Igor Kharatin rapped in a penalty.

But Pedri and Ousmane Dembele completed the rout.

Jude Bellingham became the youngest English player in Champions League history last night as he was named in Borussia Dortmund’s side that lost 3- 1 to Lazio.

At 17 years and 113 days, the England Under- 21 international beat the record held by Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

But former Birmingham midfielder Bellingham could not inspire his side with Ciro Immobile and Luiz Felipe scoring firsthalf goals and Jean- Daniel Akpa Akpro adding one in the second. Dortmund’s Erling Haaland pulled one back in the 71st minute.
