Gogglecops on the case
Channel 4, 9pm
MOTHER of God, now we’re sucking diesel, as Line Of Duty’s Ted Hastings says when his team are finally getting somewhere.
Adrian Dunbar, who plays the no- nonsense top cop in the series which i s filmed in Belfast, joins co- stars Vicky Mcclure and Martin Compston on the sofa for thi s Gogglebox celeb special for charity.
The Gogglecops are part of an exciting line- up for this edition of the show, which still feels as fresh and funny as the day it first aired.
“We had such a laugh,” says Martin, better known for scrutinising criminals than TV shows as DS Steve Arnott. Viewers love nothing more than seeing famous people in their natural habitat, slobbing out in tracksuit bottoms on the sofa and enjoying t h e i r f a v o u r i t e s n a c k s . Producers have remained tight- lipped about the line- up, although The Who l egend Roger Daltrey let it slip that he will be taking part as one of the armchair critics.
Who wi l l b e s i tt i n g alongside The Who, that is the question? On another sofa in another house, comedian Mo Gilligan and film actor Babatunde Aleshe are among the famous faces hitting the couch, analysing everything from the entertainment juggernauts to the biggest news stories, hard- hitting dramas and gritty documentaries.
Elsewhere, actor and comedian David Mitchell and his Only Connect presenter wife Victoria Coren Mitchell are also signed up to join the show.
Other names to join in the fun are singers Craig David and his friend, Youtuber and rapper KSI. The celebs won’t necessarily give the most insight, but they will laugh, cry and yell at the TV, just like the rest of us do.
And the whole event will support Stand Up To Cancer, to help fund life- saving research.
