Saoirse: I wasn’t nervous having a sex scene with Kate
Irish star on new movie
SAOIRSE Ronan yesterday insisted she wasn’t nervous getting intimate with co- star Kate Winslet during steamy sex scenes in her new movie.
The Irish actress described her emotions as she starred with the Titanic star and she said their strong bond meant there were no butterflies on the set of Ammonite.
Saoirse, 26, added: “I wasn’t nervous, no. I never really feel nervous doing sex scenes because I ’ve always worked with people I trust, which is massive, and I know not everyone can say that.”
The star, from Co Carlow, also recalled how director Francis Lee had allowed them freedom to follow their instincts during the choreography process for the intimate scenes. Saoirse revealed that trust led to them both
feeling more comfortable during filming and it helped the chemistry to develop between them.
The five- time Oscar nominee told the Sunday Telegraph: “It was great to have that authority over those intimate scenes, which can often make you feel incredibly vulnerable, but instead we felt empowered by it.
“We really felt like we were steering the ship so there were no surprises and nothing was unexpected.”
Meanwhile, Saoirse has been backed into 6/ 4 from 5/ 1 to bag her first Oscar by 2025. Sarah Kinsella of Boylesports said: “She is now 20/ 1 from 33/ 1.”
