CH CHRISTINE Lampard says her pre pregnancy is “a bit of happiness among the bleakness of the p past year”.

But she admits fearing that pandemic restriction restrictions might prevent husband Frank being with her during the birth.

The TV presenter, 41, announced at the weekend that she is expecting her s e c ond chi l d with t h e ex- England footballer, 42, now Chelsea manager.

She told pals on ITV ’s

Loose Women i n a call yesterday that the baby is due in early April. “Ideally

I ’d like Frank beside me,” she said. “I don’t want to do that on my own.”

But referring to the initial lockdown , she added: “Lots of women did have to do it the first time around.”

Christine has two- year- old daughter Patricia with Frank and is also stepmother to his two teenage girls, Luna and Isla.

She said of her new pregnancy : “It’s been lovely – I ’ve got two very excited parents back in Northern Ireland, who just can’t wait.” Christine revealed that she “definitely ” has concerns about giving birth if Covid restrictions are still in force.

“It’s a lot to do with the unknown,” she said. “Hospital appointments have now changed, you can’t bring people with you and stuff. It’s fine, that’s what you must do.

“I’m sort of thinking ahead to April and what will happen at that point. Hopefully, the world will be a much better place.

“There’s j ust a l ot of uncertainty and you just try to be overly protective.

“I really do tr y to be as cautious as I possibly can but it’s a bit lonely going to hospital appointments on your own all the time.”

Christine unveiled her joyful news with an online photo of herself cradling her bump. She wrote: “A new year and new baby on the way for the Lampards.

“It has been a strange and worrying time to be pregnant.”

She joked about Frank’s feelings, saying: “Football consumes 99% of his brain but the 1% that is left got very, very excited.”
