ALL-IRELAND U20 champions Galway lead the way in the end of season awards with the Player of the Year, Manager of the Year and six players on the top 20 performers shortlist.

Having played a critical defensive role in keeping Dublin’s top scorers at bay in the All-ireland final, Galway captain Jack Glynn has been named the U20 Player of the Year.

Tribe manager Donal O Fatharta has been named as the Eirgrid Manager of the Year after leading his squad to provincial and All-ireland victories.

It all came in only his first year in charge and was the county’s first U20 title since 2013.

Galway’s efforts in the competitio­n have been reflected with six players from the All-ireland winning panel selected as worthy recipients of a ‘20 under 20’ award in the form of Glynn, Conor Flaherty, Conor Raftery, Paul Kelly, Matthew Tierney and Tommo Culhane.

All-ireland finalists Dublin have four players included in this year’s list –

Lee Gannon, Mark Lavin, Lorcan O’dell and Ciaran Archer as do Ulster champions Tyrone with Darragh Canavan, Cormac Munroe, Ethan Jordan and Tiernan Quinn making the top 20.
