WHO IS COP’S MYSTERY RELATIVE?
MILLIONS of Line of Duty fans are still catching their breath after an adrenaline-fuelled episode that ended on the show’s biggest cliffhanger in all six series.
In Sunday’s nail-biting show on BBC1, “rat” Jimmy Lakewell (Patrick Baladi) was killed in a shootout and DCI Jo Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) had a gun held to her head by kid gangster-turned cop Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper).
At the climax, DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) revealed a big plot twist to his AC-12 gaffer Supt Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).
The DNA of DCI Davidson found at Farida’s flat had matched a sample of someone on the police database. It meant they were relatives, said Steve.
The stunned superintendent looked baffled as he looked at the mystery person and said: “Mother of God!”
He’s in for another shock when Anna Maxwell Martin returns on Sunday as DCS Patricia Carmichael.
In the meantime, who is Jo’s mystery relative? Here we line up and assess the prime suspects.

Tommy Hunter
Tommy (Brian Mccardle) was the leader of the Organised Crime Group that blackmailed Tony Gates in series one. He died in series two.
It was Tommy who recruited dodgy DI Dot Cottan as a teenager and planted him as a corrupt cop.
He also turned out to be a paedophile who abused young boys.
Tommy was arrested after Gates (Craig Parkinson) got a confession on tape. Many believe the Scottish crime lord could well be Jo’s father, although the age gap might not be quite big enough for that.
But could he be her older sibling or perhaps a cousin?
Former DCC Mike Dryden (Mark Bonnar) should definitely be in the mix here.
Dryden had to quit the force at the end of series two after he was convicted of perverting the course of justice.
He had lied about getting a speeding ticket so that he had an alibi for engaging in a sex act with a teenager, who was being exploited by Tommy Hunter. But Dryden’s sentence was suspended, which means he’s not actually in jail.
Could he be the mystery relative, using Jo Davidson to get revenge for what
happened?
