Met eireann: enjoy mild weather before temperatures plunge
UNSEASONABLY warm temperatures of 19C will blanket the country today and tomorrow before a dramatic plunge of 4C at night later in the week.
Ireland’s weather will become considerably colder from Thursday with temperatures dipping as low as 2C in parts of Munster.
But an unusual warm spell will blanket the country today and tomorrow before stormy conditions arrive.
And it will become a lot cooler from that day on as we edge towards November.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Temperatures once again will be higher than typical for the time of year, ranging between 15C or 16C in Ulster to 19C in Munster.
“Rain and drizzle will be persistent for a time in the morning but will clear through in the early afternoon.
“There’ll be showers or longer spells of rain on Tuesday, once again some heavy at times.
“Winds will be moderate to fresh southerly and temperatures will
once again be around 17C or 18C in the afternoon.”
Wednesday will see that sudden change with colder conditions and potentially very wet and windy weather.
The forecaster added: “Conditions will change by mid-week with temperatures in the afternoon of 11C or 12C.
“Winds will be light to moderate westerly and there’ll be rain or showers at times.
“On Thursday, winds will become northerly and temperatures will fall further, with afternoon temperatures of 9C to 11C and down as low as 2C or 3C on Thursday night.
“And there’ll be further spells of rain or showers.”
Long range forecasts also predict a longer stretch of rain for this weekend coming.
The Met Eireann weather expert warned: “Current indications suggest next weekend will start out dry with light winds, with another spell of rain on Saturday.”
