STEVEN GERRARD has warned Alfredo Morelos he can forget about winning a dream move to England until he starts doing the business for Rangers.

The Colombian has made no secret of his desire to one day test himself in the Premier League.

But his Ibrox boss – dishing out his third warning within the past seven days – reckons he will struggle to attract a big offer while his Gers slump continues.

Gerrard - who also says it is down to club chiefs to thrash out a new deal for Connor Goldson after insisting he has done all he can to convince the defender to stay - has been vocal with his criticism of the striker.

Morelos - stuck on 99 goals for the club - has netted just five times in 16 games this season.

Liverpool legend Gerrard insists that’s not good enough and now says it could hamper his hopes of clinching a major move south.

Asked about the 25-year-old’s future, Gerrard also took another swing at Morelos’ agent as he said: “That’s Alfredo’s decision and his representation’s decision. They seem pretty close.

“There has been a lot of noise on the outside about Alfredo, certainly in the three and half years that I have been here. None of that noise has come from anyone at Rangers. Alfredo will make his decision. He’s made it clear where he wants to be long-term.

“But the reality is he’s got to perform at a level here for people to show an interest in him.”

Goldson, meanwhile, has just seven months remaining on his current contract but the Gers vice-captain has provided mixed messages in the signals he’s sent to the Ibrox faithful this week.

Gerrard insists the 28-year-old is well aware of how much he values him.

But he also admits it will be Gers sporting director Ross Wilson who has the final say on the size of the package Gers put on the table.

He said: “I’m not concerned, I’m not confident. I’m not really over-thinking about it. Connor’s a big boy, he’s a man.

“He’s a really valuable player for me and us and the club. So hopefully we can find a solution in terms of getting him tied up.”
