TV star tells how newborn son ‘slotted in’ with older siblings
VOGUE Williams has shared her newborn son’s name – saying he “slotted in straight away”.
The Dubliner and her husband Spencer Matthews have named their latest arrival Otto James Matthews.
Baby Otto was born at London’s Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Easter Monday.
Spencer, 33, told HELLO! Magazine in a new interview: “We feel very fortunate and really blessed – we couldn’t ask for better kids.
“It’s always been our intention to have a big family and we are very lucky that we have been able to do that.”
Vogue, 36, told the publication how her new son has immediately fitted into life with their two other children – Theodore, three, and one-year-old Gigi.
She said: “Otto slotted in straight away. The kids love him and we are obsessed with him. Theodore and Gigi love playing with each other and I think that Otto’s going to be another little member of their gang. It’s lovely to see.”
In the interview, the couple recall the emotional moment when they met their son for the first time after a straightforward birth.
Vogue said: “It’s amazing when you see your baby for the first time because you’re dying to see what they look like and you’re dying to hold them. It’s just really exciting and emotional.”
Spencer added: “It felt great and we were delighted that he was healthy and safe. It was a feeling of immense love.”
And the baby’s resemblance to his father was immediate.
Vogue laughs: “I mean, there’s none of me in there. If I had been shown this baby and had to choose which one was mine, I would never know because he’s just the spitting image of Spencer.”
They also explain how they came to pick the baby’s name, with his middle name inspired by Spencer’s brother.
Vogue said: “I heard somebody else’s child called Otto a couple of years ago and the name always stuck. I just loved it. I think Otto James together sounds really cool.”
TV presenter Vogue announced she had given birth to a beautiful baby boy on April 18 with a touching post on Instagram.
“We are so happy to announce that our beautiful boy arrived safely on Monday evening. Bursting with love he is the perfect addition to our family,” she wrote, alongside a glimpse of the new baby with Theodore and Gigi.
The former model revealed the news of their third pregnancy last autumn, and shortly after said that she was having a baby boy.
This was welcome news for Theodore as he was eager to have a little brother.
Vogue told HELLO!: “My sister asked Theodore if he wants to have a brother or sister and he replied: ‘A brother! I don’t want a sister, I already have a sister.’ So he’s delighted.”
When asked about expanding their family, the podcast host replied: “It’ll be the more the merrier.
“Theodore and Gigi absolutely love each other, they’re always playing together. My sister Amber is my best friend and I want the three of them to be best mates.”
