WORLD Champion boxer Katie Taylor has reiterated her desire to fight Amanda Serrano in a rematch in Croke Park, declaring: “I would absolutely love to fight in Ireland”.

The Bray boxer has said fighting in front of a full house at Croker is the only thing that could top her victory over Serrano in New York’s Madison Square Garden last weekend.

Speaking just moments after that pulsating fight, the undisputed Lightweight champion hinted that she would like a rematch in Dublin.

None of her 21 professional bouts have been staged in Ireland.

But speaking yesterday, Taylor revealed her strong desire to have the fight at Croke Park.

“A rematch would be brilliant. I’m up for any challenge, I want to fight the best out there,” she told boxing channel

DAZN. “I would absolutely love to fight in Ireland.

“A big fight in Croke Park with 80,000 people. That would probably be the only thing that could top what happened last week.

“Imagine filling 80,000 seats that would be very, very special. It would be easy to sell as well I think.”

Meanwhile, Serrano is now claiming she did not lose her Madison Square Garden bout with Taylor.

The Puerto Rican, who was originally humble in defeat, has now claimed that Taylor should not have had her arm raised in victory.

The Bray Bomber won the fight via split decision after two judges scored it 97-93 and 96-93 in her favour, with a third giving it 96-94 to Serrano.

But Serrano (inset) took to social media on Saturday night to state that she now believes she did not lose the fight.

The 33-year-old tweeted: “One week later…had a chance to reflect on the fight against Katie. It was very close, but I did not lose. That I am certain of. Next time I will leave no doubt. Can’t Wait!

“I walked in a champ and I walked out a champ.”
