HAIRY Biker Dave Myers says he is embracing the baldness caused by chemotherapy.

The 64-year-old TV chef revealed last week that he has cancer.

But he seemed in high spirits yesterday, sharing a video clip from his Agony Uncles podcast.

At the beginning of the show, Dave said: “Thank you to everyone who has sent in a goodwill message to me. I do appreciate the good thoughts. I’ll get there. As you can see, I’ve embraced the baldness.”

Dave’s wife said his new bald look made him look like Hunger Games actor Stanley Tucci – if the actor had been sleeping rough, Dave said.

But he added: “As a great fan of Stanley Tucci, I’ve embraced that. I quite like it really. I’ve got the beard.”

He added that being bald felt “nice, fresh for the summer”.

Chatting to his fellow Hairy Biker Si King, 55, Dave said he decided to shave his hair off after realising going bald had become inevitable. He said: “It started falling out so I said, ‘Mrs Myers, get those clippers out’.”

Dave has not disclosed what type of cancer he has.

Revealing his illness last week, he said: “I’ve got to come clean now, I haven’t been too well recently and basically, I’ve got to have some chemo.

“So this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I’m not going to be filming, some of the festivals I’m not going to be able to go to. Some may be OK, but this year’s a bit of a write off for us.

“I have had to speak up about this because I don’t want to hide under a rock, but I would love it if people respected my privacy and just

let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need. That would be great. But look, the prognosis is OK.

“I’m going to be fine.”

His cooking partner and best friend Si offered an update on his condition on TV earlier this week.

During an appearance on This Morning on Wednesday, Si told viewers that his pal “remains positive” after the cancer news – and confided that it felt strange to appear on TV without his co-host for once.
