Decorum Trumps bad taste despite tantrum

-

AS world leaders flew into London for the Queen’s funeral, it was perhaps not surprising that one man tried to elbow his way back into the limelight.

The world’s greatest narcissist could not allow the day of respectful mourning to pass without needing to focus the attention on himself.

Still fuming after being snubbed from the service as he was no longer in office, ever since the Queen’s passing Donald Trump has portrayed himself as her greatest friend.

Boasting about her time in his presence and how they “got along wonderfully”, the brash billionaire businessman was said to be devastated he had not been invited.

The invitation to attend Monday’s service was only extended to current leaders. Therefore it was President Joe Biden and the First Lady who represented America.

At the funeral, strict protocol was in place.

Seating arrangements for dignitaries had been decided decades ago.

Protocols dictate that the Commonwealth’s political leaders and other royal families outrank those from the rest of the world, regardless of their importance.

It was a move that saw Biden, the most powerful man on the planet, dislodged from his usual front and centre seat of any gathering to row 14.

Yet for Trump, it was, of course, personal.

“This is what’s happened to

He would’ve tried to make the Queen’s death about himself

America in just two short years. No respect,” the architect of decorum’s downfall sniped.

“However, a good time for our president to get to know the leaders of certain Third World countries.

“If I were president, they wouldn’t have sat me back there – and our country would be much different than it is right now.”

He followed up by crassly adding: “In real estate, like in politics and in life, LOCATION IS EVERYTHING.”

It proved to those with any doubt that the funeral for Trump was never about a nation mourning its longest-reigning leader. Instead, it would have simply been a photo op he would have exploited to the full.

He would have tried to make even the Queen’s death about himself. It’s all he knows how to do.

The reality is that even if he had been president, he too would have sat in row 14 but was instead he was seated some 3,500 miles behind his nemesis, Biden.

History has repeatedly shown

Trump has no respect for anyone or anything.

Any other US leader would have sat on the steps if that’s what was asked of them. Trump would have walked out if he wasn’t front row.

And while all those mourners were praying, Trump would have sat there thinking they were speaking to him.

It won’t be long before you’ll hear him insisting his inauguration had higher attendance and better ratings than the Queen’s funeral.

Wait for it.
