WARM UP FOR 2023 WITH SHOW THRILLS

- BY FRASER ADDECOTT

Many hardy motorcyclists continue to ride come rain, cold or even snow. But with autumn already upon us and winter on the way, many of us fairer-weather bikers tend to reduce the amount of time we spend on our trusty two-wheeled steeds.

The colder months can be a time of yearning for a return to riding in the spring. But, never fear – to get the perfect motorcycling booster shot, now is the time to book your tickets for Motorcycle Live 2022.

With more than 50 manufacturers signed up to exhibit, the show, at the NEC in Birmingham, is the place to be if you want the first look at all the new hardware for 2023. It’s an opportunity to sit on and get a feel for your next potential purchase.

Other features include the MCIA Tryride, where for the first time visitors can have a go on a bike; the Experience Adventure, where riders can test their skills on the dirt; and the Electric Zone, for sampling battery-powered machines.

There are plenty of experiences for youngsters to get to grips with two wheels, with six to 18-year-olds paying just £1 to get in and under-fives’ entry is free.

The ever-popular Classic Bike and Custom Bike zones return this year, and there’s the opportunity to get up close and personal with race stars, riders and celebrities on the Black Horse stage.

Show MD Finlay Mcallan said: “It is already shaping up to be brimming with manufacturers, retailers, interaction and wall-to-wall bikes.

“As always, it’s a great opportunity for biking enthusiasts to see the latest bikes, chat to helpful, knowledgeable staff and get a winter biking fix.”

The show runs from November 19 to 27.

Almost anyone who rides motorcycles will at some point have bought something from well-known supplier Oxford Products.

And the firm has announced as part of its continued support for the people of Ukraine, it’s bought two retired ambulances to send to the country.

Having been prepared by fundraiser Fynn Watt and his team, the two vehicles set off last week. One is destined for medics in Lviv, while the other will head to Dnipro, where a military unit will add camouflage before it goes into the Kherson conflict region.
