POLICE in the North fear another drug-related murder is imminent after a cold-blooded killing in a bar.

Sean Fox, who was in his 40s, was shot dead at social club in West Belfast on Sunday afternoon.

The victim had been an associate of drugs kingpin Jim Donegan who was gunned down in 2018.

Fox moved into his former friend’s home in Lisburn,

Co Antrim, after his killing and had taken over part of his car dealing business.

An image was circulated on social media, showed Fox with

Donegan.

According to reports, one of two masked gunmen walked into the Donegal Celtic Sports and Social Club and shot Fox several times before the pair escaped on foot.

The police are now on high alert amid reports gangsters are planning more bloodshed in Belfast.

The Mirror understands two men are under what security sources have described as “imminent threat”. Police have appealed for information. Detective Chief Inspector Millar said the killers showed no regard for anyone in the bar.

He added: “This was a reckless act and there can be no justification for it whatsoever.

“This was carried out in a crowded function room where people were watching football.

“It is only by pure good fortune other patrons were not injured or killed.” He said both gunmen escaped along Suffolk Road in the direction of Gweedore. and appealed for anyone who saw the assailants as they entered the club at around 2.25pm to get on touch.

DCI Millar also urged anyone with footage to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1120 02/10/22, or to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or crimestoppers-uk.org.

Tributes have flowed for the former footballer.

A message on the Donegal Celtic History Facebook page read: “Our hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to Katrina, Nathan and wee Megan and Foxy’s parents John and Ann and the wider Fox family at this terrible time.”
