WELCOME BACK, BHOYS
Cam & Greg fit for Tannadice test
CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS and Greg Taylor are both set to return for Celtic against Dundee United.
The influential duo have been absent recently due to injury issues.
Centre-half Carter-vickers has missed the last two matches against St Mirren and Morton, while left-back Taylor has been out since the draw against Rangers at Ibrox at the beginning of the month.
But boss Ange Postecoglou
(right) says that both stars are expected to be available for the Tannadice encounter.
He said: “Apart from Tony
Ralston who is still sort of in rehab – and we’re hoping he won’t be too far away – everyone else has trained and is fit and available.
“Cameron and Greg came back into training this week and had a full week. There’s training on Saturday and we’ll see how they go but they are both ready to go.”
Postecoglou says there can be no let-up in performance from his team if they are to maintain an enjoyable recent record at the Tayside venue.
The Celtic manager got his hands on the Premiership trophy there last May and returned at the beginning of this season to guide his team to a thumping 9-0 win. But he said: “Every away game is tricky and, if you are not 100% at it, you can be tripped up.”
Meanwhile, Postecoglou says Celtic are still alert to a fifth arrival of this transfer window.
And the boss has made it clear striker Giorgos Giakoumakis will only leave if a deal is suitable the Parkhead club.
Oh Hyeon-gyu this week joined Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayahsi and Tomoki Iwata on their list of January captures.
However, the manager insists that he’s still alive to any last-gasp opportunities.
Postecoglou said: “I’m comfortable in the business we have done. We have got the targets that we sort of set out to get in this window.
“If nothing happens, we are in a great space and, if an opportunity comes, then we’ll look at it. We’re always sort of active until the window closes if any opportunities arise.
“But the key thing is we are not going to be scrambling in the last few days looking for solutions. I’m sure there will be some movement. More likely out than in at this stage but there’s still days to go.”
