ANGE COULDN’T GIVE GIAKSH*T!

Hoops manager in pop at ‘departed’ Greek striker

- FRASER WILSON

ANGE POSTECOGLOU delivered a withering full stop to Giorgos Giakoumakis’ Celtic career last night insisting the striker’s exit was no longer on his radar.

The Hoops boss has moved on from the Greek hitman and told fans to look out for a fancy signing video on social media if they want an update on his whereabouts.

Giakoumakis missed a January move out of Parkhead but different deadlines in

America and Japan allow him to seal a £4m switch to Atlanta United or Urawa Red Diamonds in the coming days.

That’ll bring to an end an 18-month spell in Glasgow in which the netted 26 goals in 57 games.

And Postecoglou said: “There’s no update from me and it’s not on my radar any more.

“Whatever club he goes to will do a nice video with some Greek music and footage of the plane arriving, and then everyone will know! My understanding is it’s not far away.

“I will probably hear it about the same time as you guys. Maybe, if you are on Instagram, you will hear about it earlier than me.”

Postecoglou is preparing his side for a trip to St Johnstone tomorrow as they look to take another step towards defending their title.

With 42 points still up for grabs, Celtic could yet eclipse Brendan Rodgers’ Invincibles by finishing on 109 points – if they win all 14 of their remaining games.

But the boss isn’t interested in the Invincibles target.

He said: “I don’t really set those kind of targets. If you do that, you kind of put a ceiling on what you can do.

“Let’s just be the best we can be. If it means we fall short of an Invincible team Brendan created, then it won’t be for the want of trying.”
